Burial Records

There are 87,000 buried in the General Cemetery, and the General Cemetery Company kept records of every burial. They recorded the name of the person being buried, their death and burial dates, their age, their place of residence, and their status/occupation.

CDs of records from different times periods, are available through the Sheffield Family History Society

Family History Research

For a more personal approach to researching your family history, a team of volunteers at the Cemetery office will carry out a burial search for you for a small fee.
